FAQS

WHY CHOOSE HALCYON THERAPIES?

I am very aware of the number of counsellors available across Northern Ireland. Each one will vary in their experience and approach, however it is important that you find the right match for you. Check out the 'About Alison' and 'Therapy Services' sections of the website to see the range of services available at Halcyon Therapies.

Emotional and Mental Health is vitally important, and the person you choose to work with you should be carefully selected. Counselling and Psychotherapy is an investment in your overall wellbeing.

Halcyon Therapies is centrally based, in a discreet multi-purpose building, as confidentiality is paramount.

WHAT FORM OF PAYMENTS DOES HALCYON THERAPIES TAKE?

Payment can be accepted by cash at the end of each session. Alternatively if you wish to pay by PayPal or cheque then this can be paid in advance of the session.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT YOUR VENUE AND CAR PARKING.

Halcyon Therapies is based in their own tailor made therapy room / office, in a discreet location in Magherafelt. The venue is a multi-purpose building and there are limited signs etc advertising my services to protect confidentiality.

Toilets and disability access are available, and car parking is free and available outside the main door or on the side of the road if you prefer.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Sessions typically cost £40 for a 50 minute session. In the therapy world this is what is known as 'the therapeutic hour'.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I MAKE AN ENQUIRY?

I aim to respond at the earliest opportunity, and I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation. This is to enable us to chat briefly about your hopes for therapy, what services I can offer, and if it is felt that those match, then we arrange to have our first face to face session.

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and begin to explore what you hope to get from the therapy. Through this process we determine what type of therapy would best meet your needs and you will be included and involved in every step.
